She nearly startled him to death again. He really ought to stop being so jumpy. This would not do for an Angel of Music. He calmed himself quickly and spoke in the same low, soothing voice.
“Your father promised you that he would send you the Angel of Music.” He took a deep breath, demanding his voice to stay steady. “You are a wonderful young lady, and you deserve an angel.”
Her eyes widened at the realization of who was speaking to her. After years of waiting, anticipating the heavenly voice who would bless her with the gift of music, he had finally made himself known. His voice, more majestic and beautiful than she could have ever hoped, replayed through her head as she stood in amazement.
“Angel?” she muttered. “Is it really you?”
